Clamtainer helps Clenzoil create custom packages without a custom package Clenzoil produces and sells CLP (cleaner, lubricant, and protectant) and related products to outdoor enthusiasts to help care for their gear. The initial Clenzoil “Field & Range” product was developed in 1948 by a World War II Army Captain to help prevent weapons from “freezing” or jamming. As the product line expanded over the years, Clenzoil was looking to add cleaning kits to their product offering. Because individual kits could contain different products, having customized packaging for each kit would be cost-prohibitive. Searching for a solution, Clenzoil President, Chris Hoffman, found the Clamtainer® performance clamshell for their new line of “Essential Kits.” Clamtainer® is a Jamestown Plastics packaging solution that turns the cursed clamshell into a reusable container. With its patented Click It® Closure technology, the Clamtainer combines one-snap closing and exceptional security with one-hand openability. It is a packaging solution that increases efficiency and reduces costs during product pack-out. Jamestown Plastics has many stock sizes of Clamtainers, which allowed Clenzoil to review various sizes and determine which would work best. Clenzoil then created 8 different SKUs of Essential Kits, building the kits around the Clamtainer. This resulted in them having a “custom package” for each kit without having to design and build individual custom packages. According to Hoffman, Clenzoil has seen many benefits since they started working with Jamestown Plastics: Packaging the Essential Kits into Clamtainers saves time for the Clenzoil team, without the need for heat sealing, RF welding, etc. Building Essential Kit packaging without tooling costs for each package provided substantial savings. The Essential Kits are easy to merchandise within retail stores. Clenzoil, their retailers, and consumers like the fact that the Clamtainers double as a case for the various items within the kit rather than simply discarding the package after opening. New kits can be developed quickly by taking advantage of the various existing stock sizes of Clamtainers. To discuss your specific project or to learn more about Clamtainer, contact us today!
